Redskins rally to beat Bucs

Jason Campbell threw a career high three interceptions but second-half touchdown passes to Chris Cooley and Santana Moss propelled the Washington Redskins past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16-13 on Sunday at FedEx Field.

The Redskins trailed 10-0 at halftime before scoring 16 unanswered points. They sealed the game with less than a minute remaining when rookie Jeremy Jarmon caused a Clifton Smith fumble at the Tampa Bay 30-yard line that was recovered by recently demoted strong safety Chris Horton.

The Redskins evened their record at 2-2. Tampa Bay fell to 0-4.

Clinton Portis, a game time decision, rushed 25 times for 98 yards. Campbell was 12-of-22 for 170 yards.

Campbell threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Cooley with 3:32 left in the third quarter and then a 59-yard strike to Moss less than three minutes later.

Down 10-0 and being booed at every opportunity, the Redskins carved their way into the game. On their opening third-quarter drive, the Redskins could get only three points off DeAngelo Halls interception, via a 42-yard Shaun Suisham field goal.

After holding Tampa Bay to a punt, the Redskins marched 69 yards on 10 plays, scoring on Campbells pass to Cooley on a post pattern. Suishams extra point attempt was blocked by Ronde Barber so the Buccaneers held the lead, 10-9.

The Bucs went three-and-punt again and the Redskins wasted no time taking their first lead.

Campbell threw 59 yards to Moss for the go-ahead touchdown with 1:22 remaining in the third quarter. Moss used a double move to run by Bucs corner Aqib Talib and caught Campbells perfect pass in stride at about the 15-yard line.

The Redskins outgained Tampa Bay 151-21 in the third quarter.

Washington reached its own 48 on its next drive before Campbells pass to Moss in double coverage was intercepted by Talib, his third of the day.

Tampa Bay started at its own 48 and steadily moved into Redskins territory after the interception, reaching the 7-yard line on Carnell Williams 17-yard run. But the Redskins defense stiffened; Ernest Graham gained 2, Williams lost 3 and Johnson scrambled for 4 yards. Mike Nugents 22-yard field goal cut the Redskins lead to three points with 4:25 remaining.

Things couldnt have started worse for the Redskins in general and Campbell in particular.

First drop-back: Chris Samuels got beat and Gaines Adams sacks Campbell.

Second drop-back: Jimmy Wilkerson sacked Campbell, whose fumble was recovered by Adams at the Redskins 10-yard line.
