In case you didn’t tune into The Washington Times’ nationally syndicated radio show “America’s Morning News” - heard in Washington on WTNT-AM 570 and coast-to-coast via the Talk Radio Network - here’s what three of Tuesday’s guests told co-hosts Melanie Morgan and John McCaslin:
• Rep. Mike Pence, Indiana Republican and chairman of the House Republican Conference: Mr. Pence called on Rep. Charles B. Rangel, New York Democrat, to step down as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee amid allegations of failing to report millions of dollars in extra income and business transactions, as well as a new report that he has pocketed campaign cash from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
• Amy Siskind, president and co-founder of the New Agenda, a group dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls: Ms. Siskind, a Democrat, said President Obama has failed women by not living up to his campaign promises. For that reason, women of both parties should have a serious discussion with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on issues affecting women and girls, especially those related to violence, she said.
• Rep. Steve King, Iowa Republican: Mr. King called on President Obama to fire “safe schools czar” Kevin Jennings, saying he “lacks the appropriate qualifications and ethical standards” to serve in his position because of his “willingness to look the other way on sexual abuse.”
