ANTWAAN RANDLE EL [UP]
Offense's forgotten man had seven catches for 98 yards
ELI MANNING [UP]
Super-efficient with only nine incompletions to go with 256 yards and a TD
ALBERT HAYNESWORTH [SIDEWAYS]
He was active in the trenches, but the defense couldn't slow the Giants
ROOKIE OF YEAR TALK [DOWN]
Brian Orakpo's name not often called; he finished with two tackles and a big early whiff
PLAYER OF THE GAME
The Giants pass rusher, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, returned with instant impact. He knocked the ball out of Jason Campbell's hand and recovered it, taking it 37 yards for the score that gave New York a 17-0 lead.
PLAY OF THE GAME
Score: New York 17, Washington 0
Quarter: Second, 33 seconds remaining
Situation: Redskins ball, fourth-and-8 on the New York 8
The play: Hunter Smith, holding on a field goal attempt for Shaun Suisham, instead picked up the ball and scooted around right end for Washington's first touchdown.
St. Louis Rams at Washington Redskins
When: Sunday, 1 p.m. Where: FedEx Field TV/radio: Chs. 5, 45, ESPN 980
Outlook: Washington goes from a road game against a Super Bowl contender to a home opener against one of the worst teams in football. The Rams failed to score Sunday, losing 28-0 in Seattle. And aside from former UVa defensive end Chris Long and bookend Leonard Little, there's little chance you've heard of any players on the Rams' defense. But last year, coming off four consecutive wins, Washington lost 19-17 to the Rams at FedEx. So you can't put this one up on the board just yet.
