“There’s no doubt they’re the best team in the league this year,” coach Jacques Martin said Monday, according to the Montreal Gazette. “They’ve had an exceptional season and the pressure will be on them.”

But, from the lowly beginnings of the franchise, with two energized buildings being the site of the first-round matchup, Washington’s first postseason clash with the fabled Canadiens franchise certainly could be a memorable one.

“It’s going to be nice,” Ovechkin told NHL.com Wednesday. “It’s always nice to play against a great team, especially in a great building with a great atmosphere. When you go off the ice people are just crazy about hockey and that’s what I appreciate. It’s going to be fun.”
