Galarraga has another perfect start vs Cleveland

DETROIT (AP) - For four innings, it looked as though Armando Galarraga might do it again.

In his first start against the Indians since umpire Jim Joyce’s missed call at first base cost him a perfect game on June 2, Galarraga retired the first 14 Cleveland batters Friday night before Jayson Nix doubled off the left-field fence.

Nix’s drive on a full-count pitch sailed just beyond the glove of leaping left fielder Don Kelly.

In all, Galarraga retired 41 of the first 42 Indians hitters he faced this season _ a .024 batting average _ with the only exception being Jason Donald’s disputed infield single with two outs in the ninth inning on June 2.
