Alualu signs 5-year, $28M contract with Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (AP) - First-round draft pick Tyson Alualu has signed his five-year, $28 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Alualu, the 10th overall pick, will be on the field for Tuesday night’s full-pads practice.

Alualu’s debut was delayed after it took him almost a full day to get from Honolulu to Jacksonville. It was unclear what his teammates had planned for him when he finally practices, but coach Jack Del Rio has him scheduled to go against childhood friend and fellow Hawaiian in the “Oklahoma drill,” but even that will have to wait. It had been scheduled for Tuesday night, but now it’s Wednesday.

Alualu plans to use his $17.5 million signing bonus to move his large family out of the projects and build a new church.
