LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Wrist slap insufficient for Rangel

- The Washington Times - Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Although the House Ethics Committee charged New York Democratic Rep. Charles B. Rangel with 13 serious offenses, it is only recommending that he be reprimanded rather than censured or expelled ("Rangel hit with 13 ethics charges," Page 1, Friday).

This is just another case of political entities shamefully protecting their own. Mr. Rangel, who has served in Congress long enough to know better, deserves harsh punishment, not a mere slap on the wrist.
