Address: 4000 Legato Road, No. 100, Fairfax, VA 22033
How did you get started in real estate? My first job out of college was in the marketing department for Pulte Homes. Then, after years in marketing and advertising, including being partner in my own firm, I decided I wanted to be part of something important in people's lives.
Licenses and designations: Licensed in Virginia
Associations: National Association of Realtors, Northern Virginia Association of Realtors
Awards: NVAR Top Producer, Lifetime Member; Multimillion Dollar Producer; President's Club, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage; Rookie of the Year, Coldwell Banker Mid-Atlantic
Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Like most working mothers, I feel most accomplished when I can be involved in my daughter's life and make family a priority. I am fortunate that although I have chosen a career with long hours and requiring great attention at certain times, I have the flexibility to spend time with my daughter that I would not have if I had a typical desk job.
Area of specialty: As a native Northern Virginian, I cover the entire Northern Virginia area, but I sell most in the Fairfax area and eastern Loudoun County. Additionally, I enjoy working with first-time buyers.
Highest-priced home sold: $1,000,000
Most memorable house: Helping an elderly gentleman prepare his home full of memories to go on the market and guiding him carefully through the overwhelming process. The buyers allowed him to stay in the house at their expense to give him additional time so he was not rushed and overwhelmed.
Worst experience buying or selling a house: Getting a phone call from the buyer's agent the night before settlement that there was 3 inches of water in the basement. The seller was out of town but authorized me to assemble the necessary contractors and get the problem fixed. The repairs were made, and the home went to settlement two weeks later.
Family: Married with one daughter
Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication, University of South Carolina, 1988
What kind of car do you drive? Always a sport utility vehicle so there is room for everyone in my car, currently an Infinity Q56. GPS is mandatory so we can cover a lot of ground and see as many homes in one day as possible.
Describe your personal dream house: The perfect home is one that functions with useful spaces, tons of storage and unique features to make daily chores more pleasant, such as multiple dishwashers and convenient laundry rooms. I keep a journal of all of the unique features I have seen in homes through the years as well as improvements I would make on my own home. I am forever changing and improving by moving walls, adding built-ins and upgrading. My current favorite feature is heated bathroom floors - especially after last winter.
