How did you get started in real estate? After graduating from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management, I wanted to find a career where my time, energy, efforts and experience would directly help the consumer. I have an entrepreneurial spirit and wanted to run my own business to assist a wide client base with their individual needs. Real estate was a perfect fit.

How long with the current company? 16 years

Licenses and designations: Salesman (1985-89), Associate Broker (1989-present), Coldwell Banker International Previews (luxury) Property Specialist

Associations: National Association of Realtors, Virginia Association of Realtors, Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (NVAR)

Awards: Pioneer Club certificate for 25 years of membership (NVAR), Coldwell Banker International President’s Circle, lifetime member of the NVAR Million Dollar Sales Club, and consistent top producer in Coldwell Banker Reston office.

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: My wife (and real estate partner), Kathy, and I took on the responsibility of fundraising for the South Lakes High School Athletic Booster Club this year. We had a record year in raising money to help support the student-athletes of the school. We also are proud supporters of the academic and athletic boosters for the school.

Area of specialty: Residential real estate in Northern Virginia and Reston waterfront properties.

Highest-priced home sold: $1,800,000.

Most memorable house: Looking back on the past 25 years, I tend to focus on the memories of finding the right houses for so many clients at different times in their lives. That is what is most memorable to me - watching people enjoy the properties they move into and enjoying their communities.

Worst experience buying or selling a house: Most recently, some of our listings have not initially appraised for the sales price, so after providing a detailed analysis of the homes and comparable homes, I have been able to prove the true value of the homes in question.
