Smith hurt his left foot during practice on Wednesday and left early. Medical tests found a fracture. It’s the same foot that he broke last season as a rookie.
The first-round draft pick from Alabama has had a star-crossed career in Cincinnati. He missed most of training camp in a holdout last season, then broke the foot in practice two days later, sidelining him for the majority of the season.
He had surgery on the foot in the offseason and showed up for training camp out of shape. He had worked his way into the starting lineup the last three games.
