LAKE FOREST, ILL. (AP) - Chicago Bears receiver Earl Bennett is apparently OK after an early morning accident Monday that damaged his car.

Illinois State Police say Bennett’s 1973 Chevy Impala was hit from behind by a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire in Chicago early Monday.

Master Sgt. Jeff Kashmeier said no one was injured and alcohol was not involved. He says the driver of the Pontiac was cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license and for failing to reduce speed.

Kashmeier says Bennett had a passenger with him but isn’t sure who it was.

The accident happened a day after the Bears beat Buffalo 22-19 in Toronto. Bennett had four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in that game.

In messages posted on his Twitter account, Bennett said he’s fine but the car _ which he calls “Ole Skool” _ is not.

“Thanking God I’m alive!!!!” he wrote. “(G)uy ran into back of my ole skool we smashed into wall ole skool done!!! But I’m alive that’s all that matters.”

Coach Lovie Smith said Bennett worked out Monday at the team’s headquarters and is fine.
