WASHINGTON | Metropolitan Police say an officer suffered minor injuries after a marked cruiser responding to an emergency hit a vehicle involved in the filming of “Transformers 3.”

Police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump says the officer was hurt in the Monday afternoon accident at 3rd Street and Maryland Avenue S.W. The officer was taken to a hospital.

D.C. Deputy Fire Chief Ken Crosswhite says the SUV struck a yellow Chevy Camaro on the movie set.

Crump says the crash is under investigation and that filming on closed Washington streets has been suspended until safety procedures are reviewed.
