NEW YORK (AP) - Which gossip editor is leaving the New York Post’s Page Six after 25 years chronicling the lives of the famous and the notorious?

Page Six editor Richard Johnson said goodbye in a column in the Post on Wednesday. He is leaving to work on a new digital venture for Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.

Murdoch’s far-flung media empire includes the Post and the Fox Network.

Johnson’s replacement as Page Six editor is Fleet Street veteran Emily Smith.

The Post announced Johnson’s departure last week. Post Editor-in-Chief Col Allan called it “bittersweet.”

Page Six is known for its irreverent coverage of entertainers, moguls and sports stars. The column often runs blind items inviting readers to guess which celebrity was spotted misbehaving in public.
