EAST LANSING, MICH. (AP) - The probation officer for Michigan State’s Chris L. Rucker has recommended the defensive back spend 21 days in jail for breaking probation.

Rucker was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated on Sunday, several hours after the Spartans beat rival Michigan for the third straight year.

Rucker has until next Wednesday to appear for arraignment.

Last November, he was sentenced to 12 months’ probation and 150 hours of community service for assault for his role in an on-campus fight.

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio has suspended the starting defensive back for at least Saturday’s game against Illinois.
