Censorship at NPR

NPR’s left-wing bias, driven by hefty financial contributions from the liberal darling, George Soros, and the undermining currents of the fundamentalist Islamic Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), combined to accomplish the firing of Juan Williams from the ranks of NPR’s staff.

From NPR’s perspective, Mr. Williams made the mistake of expressing his honest feelings on Fox’s “The O'Reilly Factor.”Mr. Williams, a liberal Democrat and frequent Fox contributor, is a decent, intelligent person, likable and respected by everyone along the political spectrum. He simply stated that when he sees a group of people in Muslim garb at the airport, it is a source of fear because of the tragic terrorist strikes of Sept. 11.

This nation needs the likes of Juan Williams and the intelligent, contrary positions he offers to offset the more conservative voices with which I happen to agree. It is only through the sensible and dignified expression of ideas in a free market of thought that true American values can be achieved. Shame on NPR.
