PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Rutgers and Connecticut is quickly becoming a Big East Conference rivalry.
Forget that the universities are located a bus ride from each other, or that Rutgers‘ Greg Schiano and Connecticut Randy Edsall frequently recruit the same high school players, or that a lot of the players know each other.
Just look at the last couple of games between the schools. The closeness makes the rivalry simmer.
The Scarlet Knights (2-2) will be taking a two-game losing streak into Friday night’s conference opener at Rutgers Stadium against those Huskies (3-2).
