Long in, Crowder out for Dolphins

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Dolphins Pro Bowl tackle Jake Long is starting for Miami against the Buffalo Bills after being limited in practice all week because of a left knee injury.

Long, who has started every game in his first two NFL seasons, hurt his knee in the Dolphins' final exhibition game at Dallas.

Miami linebacker Channing Crowder, who hasn’t practiced in almost a month, headed the Dolphins’ inactive list. He was replaced by Tim Dobbins, who was acquired in a trade with San Diego in April. The Dolphins also announced that backup linebacker Ikaika Alama-Francis won’t play after he became ill before the game.

Outside linebacker Reggie Torbor (chest) and backup linebacker Antonio Coleman (hamstring) were inactive for the Bills.
