Dunn, Zimmerman both out in Nats’ series finale vs. Houston

WASHINGTON | For the first time in two seasons as Washington Nationals, Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Dunn are not in the starting lineup.

Both were out with injuries for Thursday night’s game against Houston.

Zimmerman was in the original lineup, but the third baseman was scratched with a muscle strain in his torso.

Manager Jim Riggleman said he wanted to give Dunn a day off. Dunn was hit in the elbow by a pitch Wednesday and also has a sore hamstring.

Zimmerman has not played in 10 games this year and Dunn hasn’t been in three. Last year, they missed a combined eight games, but never at the same time.
