ANALYSIS/OPINION:

As President Obama begins a four-state swing for Democratic candidates with a political rally in Wisconsin, he seems desperate to recapture the old campaign magic that got him elected.

But Mr. Obama reminds me of a sign I once saw outside a store in Wheaton, Md. It read “used books, magic supplies.” Mistakenly, I read the words vertically as “used magic.”

Now I see that those words make sense. That’s what I believe Mr. Obama is working with these days - “used magic.”
