Briggs in full pads for practice

LAKE FOREST, ILL. (AP) - Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs was in full pads for the first time since Aug. 28 and practiced on a limited basis for the Chicago Bears on Wednesday.

Briggs has been nursing a sprained right ankle since the third preseason game against Arizona.

The Bears open the season Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
