Sabres G Miller missing at practice

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Sabres goalie Ryan Miller is absent from practice, leaving the Buffalo starter’s status uncertain for the team’s two-game weekend road trip.

Miller is recovering from what the team is only referring to as an upper body injury that forced him to miss a scheduled start in a 1-0 win over the New York Rangers on Wednesday. General manager Darcy Regier has listed Miller as day to day and said there’s a possibility Miller can play this weekend.

Regier has declined to say whether Miller’s been tested for a concussion. Coach Lindy Ruff was expected to update Miller’s status after practice.

The seventh-place Sabres play at Washington on Saturday and at Carolina on Sunday in continuing their push to secure a playoff spot.
