RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A person familiar with the situation says North Carolina State will name Mark Gottfried as its next men’s basketball coach.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the school has yet to make a formal announcement. A news conference is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
Gottfried was in his 11th season as head coach at Alabama when he resigned in January 2009. He also spent three seasons as head coach at Murray State.
Gottfried replaces Sidney Lowe, who resigned last month after five seasons.
