The Oakland Raiders used a third-round choice Monday in the NFL’s supplemental draft to select former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor.
The Raiders and the league announced that Oakland used the 18th selection of the round for Pryor. Oakland forfeits its third-round selection in the 2012 draft.
No other players were chosen.
Pryor will not be eligible to practice with or play for Oakland during the regular season until the team’s sixth game.
When he was allowed to enter Monday’s draft, he was handed a five-game suspension by Commissioner Roger Goodell - the same number of games he would have sat out had he returned to Ohio State.
Surgery scheduled for Chargers’ Cooper, Crayton
SAN DIEGO | Chargers inside linebacker Stephen Cooper will have surgery on a torn biceps muscle and be out for two to three months. Cooper was hurt in an exhibition victory at Dallas on Sunday night.
Also, wide receiver Patrick Crayton has bone spurs in an ankle and will have arthroscopic surgery. He’s expected to be out 10 days to two weeks.

STEELERS: Pittsburgh signed veteran offensive lineman Trai Essex to a one-year contract. Essex, an unrestricted free agent, spent the first six seasons of his career with the Steelers.
Rookie guard Nevin McCaskill was waived to make room on the roster for Essex.
