Silver Spring man charged in D.C. double homicide

A Silver Spring man was arrested Monday for a January double homicide in the District, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

Sergio Waynes, 24, was charged with first-degree murder for the fatal shootings of Rashid Paul, 27, and D'Angelo Thompson, 28.

The two men were found fatally shot inside a vehicle in the 100 block of Peabody Street in Northeast on Jan. 23.

Mr. Waynes was arrested Monday on a warrant for the charge of carrying a pistol without a license in an unrelated case. He was subsequently charged with the two homicides, police said.
