SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A person with knowledge of the negotiations says the San Francisco 49ers will meet Monday with Frank Gore’s representative about a new contract.
The person confirmed a meeting is scheduled between the team and Drew Rosenhaus, speaking on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press on Saturday night because of the privacy surrounding contract talks.
Gore’s unsettled contract situation has been a point of frustration so far during training camp for the two-time Pro Bowler. He has said he would like a long-term deal to stay put with the 49ers _ and new coach Jim Harbaugh is optimistic it will happen. General manager Trent Baalke said this past week he would like to make Gore a “49er for life.”
Reports surfaced in recent days that a meeting was in the works.
