De Rosario’s three goals help D.C. tie Toronto FC

WASHINGTON — Dwayne De Rosario capped his hat trick by converting a game-tying penalty kick in the 88th minute as D.C. United salvaged a 3-3 draw with Toronto FC on Saturday night.

United (6-6-9) had not trailed until the 86th minute, when Andy Iro chipped in Danny Koevermans‘ corner for Toronto.

Toronto (3-11-11) lost the lead after Iro dragged down Austin Da Luz in the penalty area. De Rosario then beat Stefan Frei on the low right side with his ninth goal - sixth in six games since joining United.

De Rosario also scored in the 19th and 64th minutes. But Peri Marosevic and Julian de Guzman each countered in the second half, and United’s home winless stretch reached seven games.

United was a man down after Bill Hamid received a red card for flipping Eric Avila with a hard tackle in the 7th minute.
