Moore sent back down by Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman John Moore to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

General manager Scott Howson announced the move on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old Moore, one of Columbus’ prized young players, appeared in one game with the Blue Jackets after his Feb. 3 recall. His debut came in a 4-3 win on Feb. 5 against Edmonton. Since then, he had been a healthy scratch.

The Blue Jackets’ first pick, 21st overall, in the 2009 draft, Moore has three goals and 15 assists in 47 games in his first year as a professional this season at Springfield.
