Valverde misses 4th day of training due to flu

    LAKELAND, FLA. (AP) - Detroit Tigers closer Jose Valverde has missed his fourth day of spring training due to the flu,

    Tigers manager Jim Leyland said Tuesday is going slowly with Valverde.

    An AL All-Star last season, Valverde struggled during the second half when he had a 6.38 ERA.
