Resale of the week: Amenities add to home’s allure
Convenient transportation options, an upscale mall and a state-of-the-art performing arts center all are within a 10-minute drive of a contemporary home on the market in Rockville, Md.
Tucked away on a quiet street in the Timberlawn subdivision is a four-bedroom home with a two-story entry foyer and an appealing design. Situated off Tuckerman Road at 10708 Gloxinia Drive, this home also boasts a North Bethesda location.
The house is positioned so that it’s not directly facing the street, thanks to a side driveway that leaves the house facing the front yard instead.
On the market for $799,000, it is being advertised as the largest model in the Timberlawn community.
The owner’s comfortable sitting space on the front porch, furnished with two trendy chairs, is indicative of the laid-back style and design found within the house.
A window-filled exterior combined with flat roof lines are ideal for the home’s parklike setting. There’s a double-door entry that opens into the two-story foyer. The home has a nice flow throughout with a convenient open floor plan.
An extra-sunny living room has the advantage of three floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the front yard. This space works well as either a casual or formal gathering hub. Hardwood floors are found throughout the main-level rooms.
In addition to the living room, other spaces to entertain and unwind include a nearby den that can be used as an extra bedroom if needed, a generously sized dining room with a stainless steel pendant light fixture, and a family room. A brick fireplace is the center of attention in the cozy family room. The fireplace is flanked by two pairs of sliding glass doors that open onto the deck.
Before heading into the kitchen there’s a butler’s pantry with cabinets, a sink, countertop space and a brick wall design that separates the family room from the kitchen area.
The eat-in kitchen with granite counters is also sunny and comes with plenty of cabinetry and storage space. Black appliances include a side-by-side refrigerator and a double oven. There’s a huge window over the sink with an impressive view of the backyard and there’s also a workspace desk for sorting mail.
A half-bath and a laundry room round out the main level.
A staircase near the foyer leads to the sleeping quarters, which include four bedrooms and three full baths. The largest of the rooms is a master suite with an adjoining sitting room and a private master bath.
This master bathroom has a separate tub and shower as well as a walk-through area with double sinks.
The other bedrooms and bathrooms are spread along the long hallway. They each feature ample closet space and bright, large windows.
The backyard is home to two decks and a patio that overlook the lush yard and its mature trees. With spring right around the corner, the deck is large enough for plenty of warm-weather entertaining.
