Nationals, Nix agree to minor-league deal

WASHINGTON | Outfielder Laynce Nix and the Washington Nationals have agreed to terms on a minor league contract that includes an invitation to spring training.

The Nationals announced the deal Thursday.

The 30-year-old Nix played for the Cincinnati Reds last season, hitting .291 with four homers and 18 RBIs in 97 games. He has 48 homers and 182 RBIs across eight major league seasons with three clubs.
