Forsberg wants to play for Avalanche again

ENGLEWOOD, COLO. (AP) - Peter Forsberg says he wants to resume his NHL career with the Colorado Avalanche and just needs to work out contract details.

Forsberg said if the contract could be worked out quickly he would travel with the team to Phoenix later in the day.

Forsberg has been practicing with the team for two weeks and said he feels good enough to come back to the NHL after a three-year hiatus. He said he decided before Sunday morning’s practice if nothing went wrong he would seek a contract.

Forsberg has played in 13 NHL seasons, 11 with the Avalanche organization and has won two Stanley Cup titles, both with Colorado.
