OTTAWA (AP) - Veteran goalie Alex Auld is returning to Ottawa, agreeing to a one-year, $1 million deal with the Senators.

Auld, who played 43 games with Ottawa during the 2008-09 season, is expected to be the backup next season to Senators starter Craig Anderson.

The 30-year-old Auld went 6-2-2 with a .914 save percentage and 2.64 goals-against average last season with Montreal. He was 16-18-7 with a 2.47 GAA during his first stint with Ottawa.
