Timberlake gets own invite to D.C. Marine Corps Ball

After Mila Kunis accepted a YouTube video invitation from Sgt. Scott Moore to accompany him to the Marine Corps Ball this fall, a female Marine is trying the same approach.

Cpl. Kelsey De Santis, based in Quantico, Va., posted a video on YouTube in which she asks Justin Timberlake to be her date to her final Marine Corps Ball, People magazine reports.

Mr. Timberlake reportedly had encouraged Miss Kunis to accept Sgt. Moore's invitation while the pair were being interviewed on Fox News in connection with their upcoming movie, "Friends With Benefits."

"You need to do it for your country," Mr. Timberlake had prompted Miss Kunis.

Cpl. De Santis' video makes reference to Miss Kunis' invite: "So Justin, you want to call out my girl Mila? Well, I'm going to call you out and ask you to come to the Marine Corps Ball with me on Nov. 12 in Washington, D.C.

"And if you can't go, all I have to say is, cry me a river. Hit me up."

Emma Watson to balance college and film careers

One of the most endearing aspects of the "Harry Potter" film franchise has been the opportunity for viewers to watch the beloved characters grow up, on- and off-screen.

Fans have watched the film's stars - Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint - grow not only as wizards, but also as actors.

The 21-year-old Miss Watson, who has portrayed the adorable Hermione Granger in all eight "Harry Potter" flicks, plans to continue her film career while pursuing her college degree this fall.

The studious actress, who has spent two years studying at Brown University in Providence, R.I., announced she will spend her third year studying English at Oxford University's Worcester College. Although Miss Watson was rumored to have dropped out of Brown because of incessant heckling and teasing last year, she put those rumors to rest and said she's still enrolled at Brown and will be attending Oxford through a study-abroad program in September.

"I'm going to Oxford in the fall, to study English for a year," she told reporters Monday. "Just to explain, I haven't left Brown. I'm still enrolled at Brown, but I'm doing my third year abroad to study - at home."

She might be hitting the books, but the ambitious starlet has no plans to take a break from the big screen. This fall, she will star alongside an A-list cast including Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh in the drama "My Week With Marilyn." Additionally, Miss Watson will spend the remainder of the summer shooting the big-screen adaptation of the novel "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," which will open early next year.

Cosmetics company offers after-death package

The cosmetics brand Illamasqua, which boasts big-name clients including Courtney Love and Lily Allen, has teamed up with London funeral directors Leverton & Sons to offer professional cosmetic alterations to those who wish to improve their look after death, Fox News reports.

The service, aptly named the Final Act of Self-Expression, allows high-paying clients to design their "last glamorous look" prior to their death. The company describes the unusual makeover service as a way to bring "ritual beauty" to those who love to "self-express."

"It encourages people to plan their final transformation - one that pays tribute to who they were in life and how they want to enter the afterlife," said an Illamasqua representative.

A customer hoping to glamorize her look after death will have to fork over a little more than $700 before death. An Illamasqua makeup artist specially trained in working with embalmed corpses will then apply the cosmetic alterations.

"To wear the most fabulous makeup applied by a professionally trained makeup artist for your final journey is the ultimate statement of celebration," the company said on its blog.

Illamasqua is a relatively new beauty firm, founded in 2008, but its profile has grown significantly in recent months. The brand has been elevated to cult status and is sold in hundreds of stores worldwide.
