A bomb threat during Monday morning rush hour closed Metro's Rockville rail station and required passengers from one train to be evacuated onto the tracks.
Metro Transit Police and Montgomery County police were dispatched at about 7:45 a.m. to the station for "comments about a bomb being on the train, or someone having a bomb," Metro spokeswoman Angela Gates said.
A female suspect was taken into custody and being evaluated at a local hospital, Ms. Gates said.
The station was evacuated and the adjacent Shady Grove station was effectively closed, as power was shut down on the tracks between the stations. Power was cut to the tracks' third rail before the evacuation. The stations and trains were open and running by 10:30 a.m.
