PG police investigate double stabbing

Prince George's County police on Friday were investigating a double stabbing in a Temple Hills neighborhood that left a woman dead and a man in critical condition.

Officers were called to the 3500 block of Leslie Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday for a report of a cutting, police spokesman Cpl. Mike Rodriguez said. When officers arrived they found the woman lying in the street suffering from stab wounds. The man was found in a nearby residence. Both were taken to a local hospital where the woman died

The victims were in a relationship, and police initially suspected the stabbings were domestic-related, Cpl. Rodriguez said. Police have now broadened their investigation to look for other suspects.

“We’re looking at this to see if these people were attacked,” Cpl. Rodriguez said

Neither victim has been identified by police. The woman’s death brings the total number of criminal homicides in the county to 42 this year compared to 31 at this time in 2010. The number does not include homicides deemed justifiable or police shootings.
