‘Lost’ writer to adapt King book for Showtime

“Lost” scribe Brian K. Vaughan has found his next TV gig.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the well-known comic book writer has been tapped to adapt Stephen King’s 2009 novel “Under the Dome,” which is in development at Showtime.

The premium cable network announced plans to develop a potential drama series based on the book about locals in a Maine town who battle one another when a force field surrounds their community and cuts them off from the remainder of the world.

Mr. King will be an executive producer on the project along with DreamWorks TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.

In addition to serving as a writer, co-producer and executive story editor on ABC’s “Lost,” Mr. Vaughan is an Eisner Award winner for best comic series for Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Ex Machina and Marvel’s Ultimate X-Men.
