Hester scores 2 long TDs as Bears romp past Vikings

CHICAGO — Devin Hester set the tone with a 48-yard touchdown catch and scored on a career-best 98-yard kickoff return to fuel the Chicago Bears’ 39-10 rout of the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night.

Jay Cutler threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Julius Peppers had two sacks, and the Bears held Vikings star Adrian Peterson to 39 yards rushing.

BENGALS: Cincinnati middle linebacker Rey Maualuga wore a cast on his left foot Monday, an indication his ankle injury will sideline him for more than only one game. Maualuga sprained his left ankle during practice Thursday and wasn’t active for Sunday’s win over Indianapolis.

BROWNS: Cleveland running back Peyton Hillis has an injured left hamstring, and coach Pat Shurmur does not know how long he will be sidelined. Hillis was injured during the first quarter of Sunday’s loss at Oakland.

MEDIA: Jon Gruden agreed to a new contract with ESPN that keeps him in TV - and out of coaching - for the next five years.
