Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is not running for president, nor, in my opinion, should she be. Instead, I agree that the bedrock sense, unquestionable commitment and rare knowledge and experience of Newt Gingrich are more than suitable to the times in which we live.

As vice president, Mr. Gingrich’s reassuring competence could be better focused, with Mr. Cain performing all educational, diplomatic and ceremonial tasks on the surface.

The deadly serious work of putting the country back on track could then be shared by two men who know what’s what and what’s up.
