Hudson murders trial to focus on youngest victim

CHICAGO (AP) - Jennifer Hudson was in the building but not the courtroom for the start of the third day of testimony in the trial of the man accused of killing three of her family members.

The Oscar-winning actress left the trial of William Balfour on Tuesday before crime scene photos of her slain mother and brother were shown. Prosecutors on Wednesday are expected to exhibit unsettling images of the youngest victim, her 7-year-old nephew.

Balfour is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the 2008 slayings. Prosecutors say he killed the victims in a jealous rage because Hudson’s sister, his estranged wife at the time, was seeing someone else.

He denies wrongdoing.
