EAGLE LAKE, MINN. (AP) - The head football coach at Minnesota State, Mankato, has been arrested on charges related to child pornography.
Todd Hoffner was booked Tuesday into the Blue Earth County Jail on suspicion of using underage people in a sexual performance and possession of child pornography.
He hasn’t been formally charged, and it’s not immediately clear if he has an attorney. His home phone number is disconnected.
The Mankato Free Press reports ( http://bit.ly/MJTKYK) authorities were at Hoffner’s Eagle Lake home. Eagle Lake Police Chief Phil Wills told the newspaper he couldn’t comment.
The Associated Press left messages seeking comment from sheriff’s officials and prosecutors.
Hoffner was escorted off the football practice field Friday. School spokesman Dan Benson tells the AP Hoffner is on leave. He says the university is working on a statement.
