Williams sisters get wild card for US Open doubles

Venus and Serena Williams received a wild-card entry into the U.S. Open doubles draw Friday, giving them a chance to play for their 14th career Grand Slam title.

The Williams sisters won Wimbledon, then followed with a gold medal at the London Olympics and will now try for their first U.S. Open championship since 2009.

Also receiving a wild card was three-time singles champion Kim Clijsters, who is playing in what she says will be her last tournament. She's paired with another Belgian, Kirsten Flipkens.

NCAA champions Mallory Burdette and Nicole Gibbs got a wild card, as did American Melanie Oudin, who will team with Grace Min.

Ryan Harrison and his younger brother, Christian, were among the men to receive doubles wild cards.
