As summer winds down, many families think longingly of repeating their oceanside vacation for a week or two next year. Families with a vacation home by the shore know they can visit the beach in any season. And those who own a home at the Peninsula on the Indian River Bay in Millsboro, Del., have access to an array of resort amenities for year-round relaxation and entertainment.

Residents at the Peninsula live in a private gated community with 24-hour security and a choice of golf and country-club memberships. Golfers will appreciate the Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, while swimmers will enjoy the choice of an outdoor swimming pool, a wave pool and an Olympic-size indoor pool.

The 750-acre community includes tennis courts and a state-of-the-art fitness facility. The Lakeside Village community center also includes a spa for massages and other treatments as well as a restaurant.

The community has a bayside beach, a fishing pier, walking trails and a nature center with wood decks overlooking marshes and Lingo Creek, where residents can enjoy fishing, kayaking and bird-watching.

The Peninsula is eight miles from Rehoboth Beach and 11 miles from Lewes, Del. Residents will find a variety of shops and restaurants nearby along with outlet shops in Rehoboth.
