The body of a woman found in a creek in Fort Washington last week has been identified as that of a missing 22-year-old D.C. woman, Prince George's County police said Monday.

Shavon L. Phillips, of the 5100 block of Fitch Street in Southeast Washington, was reported missing in the District on July 30. Two days later a resident reported finding a body in a creek in 12200 block of Braemer Circle in Fort Washington.

Prince George's County police on Monday announced that they had identified the body as Ms. Phillips but did not provide any information on her cause of death.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Ms. Phillips was last seen leaving the 400 block of 61st Street in Northeast Washington.
