Police identified the woman who was found dead on Sunday in a wooded area in Laurel.
At around 4 p.m., a man found Staci Marie Watkins, 49, in a wooded area near the 9000 block of Route 1, according to a Howard County Police press release.
A friend of Ms. Watkins reported her missing a few weeks ago, according to the release. Investigators believe Ms. Watkins may have been homeless.
In preliminary findings, police do not suspect foul play. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing.
