LONDON (AP) - Ricky Burns will not defend his WBO lightweight title in London on Saturday after Filipino opponent Jose Ocampo pulled out of the fight citing “contractual issues with TV.”
Ocampo had been a late stand-in for Burns‘ original challenger, Liam Walsh, who withdrew after hurting his back in a car crash.
Promoter Frank Warren says Burns will return to the ring late in January for the Scotsman’s third defense of his belt.
