A 42-year-old man was arrested on charges related to arson after Prince George's County Fire and Emergency Services Department officials say he set fire to an abandoned Seat Pleasant house causing a blaze that injured one fire fighter.
Fire fighters responded to reports of a fire at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at a vacant two-story home in the 500 block of Eastern Avenue, officials said. The fire required 35 fire fighters to put out the flames and one fire fighter was burned on his ears. He was treated and released from a hospital burn unit.
The man, who officials did not name on Sunday, was charged with arson. The department estimates the fire damage at about $100,000.
