Prince William County Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl after posing as a cable company employee to gain access to her Woodbridge home.

The attack happened Monday around 3 p.m. in the 4400 block of Echo Court. A man knocked on the door of the girl’s home, told her he worked for a cable company and asked to speak to a person who did not live at the residence. When the girl said that the person did not live at the home, the man left. However he returned about 10 minutes later and threatened the girl, forcing her to let him inside, said county police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok.

Once inside the home, the man pulled out a knife and forced the girl to a bedroom. Officer Perok said the man did not rape the girl, but did sexually assault her. At some point during the attack, the girl began yelling and kicking the man and he fled the home.

Police canvassed the neighborhood to ask if anyone may have seen the man knocking on other residents’ doors but said Tuesday that no one has reported seeing anyone matching his description.

The attacker is described as a black man between the ages of 20 and 29, who was last seen wearing a gray jacket, red shirt, black pants and black dress shoes.
