A 4-year-old boy was shot by a stray bullet during a Saturday night shooting that injured a second person outside the child's home, D.C. police said.
A spokesman for the D.C. police said that at about 7:56 p.m Saturday, an unknown suspect shot an adult outside of a home in the 1200 block of Savannah Place in Southeast.
Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots. When police arrived, they found the wounded adult outside. Inside the home, a 4-year-old boy had been shot in the hand.
It was unclear whether the boy and adult victims were related. Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
