An on-duty police officer was killed Monday on his way to a traffic crash when his motorcycle collided with a minivan, Prince William County police said.
Officer Chris Yung, 35, was traveling southbound on Nokesville Road in Bristow, Va., at about 2:04 p.m. when a minivan attempted to make a left turn into a shopping center near the intersection of Nokesville Road and Piper Lane.
Police said Officer Yung was taken to a hospital where he died. No other injuries were reported and the driver’s name was not released.
Officer Yung was a 7-year veteran of the county’s police department and assigned to the traffic unit as a motorcycle officer.
