A man killed inside his Gaithersburg apartment this week was fatally stabbed, Montgomery County police said Tuesday.
Cesar Smith, 45, was killed early Monday during an argument with several people who entered his apartment.
Police have released few details about the stabbing, including any possible motive or whether Mr. Smith may have known his attackers. Another man was in the apartment, located on Whetstone Drive in Gaithersburg, when the suspects entered the unit. The individuals separated the two men and Mr. Smith was heard by the other man to be arguing with the attackers. After they left, the man found Mr. Smith suffering from a stab wound.
